I can't think of one practical thing I might want this for --- but that doesn't stop me from wanting one:

Never mind the fact that you probably have no use for a big, expensive, and heavy demolition robot — you're going to want one anyway. The Husqvarna DXR 310 Demolition Robot ($TBA) is like having your own life-size Transformer to play around with, breaking down walls, doors, and anything else you can imagine. It features a robotic arm that reaches over 15 feet, a modern remote control that offers Bluetooth, a 3.5-inch screen, and one-handed operation, and the ability to pass through normal doorways and climb stairs — if it hasn't ripped them apart already. To hell with actual work though - you should just use it to wreak apocalyptic havoc on your neighborhood, then tell the police a drunken Optimus Prime is to blame.
Just imagine this thing crawling across your backyard tackling / destroying everything that it faces...

R.I.P. 3.5" Floppy Disk
The Sony Corporation, which created the 3.5 inch floppy disk in 1981, will cease production of the format next year:
With the advent of CDs and later, DVDs, the use of the plastic floppys and its limited storage capacity were quickly deserted.
After the Apple G3, along with PCs, began shipping without the drives pre-installed the disks became virtually obsolete. However, the death of the format has only now become official with Sony’s decision. [...]
The 3.5 inch floppy was first introduced in 1981, and hit the height of its sales in 2000.

Goodbye, old friend.

This thing looks awesome. For anyone wanting an ATV and a Jetski - this is a nice compromise. As mentioned in the description, in actuality, it's probably not as fantastic as a single-purpose ATV or watercraft... but the combo is what makes it great:
Combining a jet ski with a four-wheeler might sound crazy — in fact, it is a little crazy, but it's also awesome. The Quadski ($TBA) is exactly that: a four wheel amphibious vehicle that tears it up on land and sea, with a top speed of 50 mph on either surface. Granted, we doubt it's as good on land as a regular ATV or on water as a jet ski, but when was the last time you were able to drive your jet ski to the beach?
It'll take a couple...

Cool first drive in Japan on the CRZ. Some of the comments in the blog are interesting, and make me raise an eyebrow. I have to agree that we may never see another lightweight CRX but at least a hatch in the market is nice to have (and not the fit)
Update: Here's a link to a slideshow of volcano/lightning pictures.... good stuff.
Credit & Copyright: Marco Fulle (Stromboli Online)Explanation: Why did the recent volcanic eruption in Iceland create so much ash? Although the large ash plume was not unparalleled in its abundance, its location was particularly noticeable because it drifted across such well populated areas. The Eyjafjallajökull volcano in southern Iceland began erupting on March 20, with a second eruption starting under the center of small glacier on April 14. Neither eruption was unusually powerful. The second eruption, however, melted a large amount of glacial ice which then cooled and fragmented lava into gritty glass particles that were carried up with the rising volcanic plume. Pictured above two days ago, lightning bolts illuminate ash pouring out of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano.

Not the most beautiful watercraft we've posted here on TT, but it's features are pretty amazing:

What do you get when you cross a powerboat with a mini submarine? The Hyper Sub ($TBA). Offering seating for up to four passengers plus a pilot, the Hyper Sub is ABS certified, and offers a surface speed of up to 40 knots and a range of 500 surface miles, thanks to twin inboard diesel engines good for 880hp and a 525 gallon fuel tank. Below the waves, the Sub can dive up to 250 feet using a self-charging electric over hydraulic system, and offers a 180-degree acrylic canopy and umbilical SCUBA support.

Ousted "Tonight Show" host Conan O'Brien will return to late-night television in November with a show on cable channel TBS, the network said Monday.
O'Brien's talk show will air weeknights at 11 p.m. ET/PT, leading into "Lopez Tonight" which will shift to a midnight start, TBS said.
I'm usually in bed by 11, but will consider staying up later than usual on some nights to catch Conan. I'm glad he found a new spot. NBC will forever regret its decision of asking him to step down.

This is a great looking car! Too bad it's ~$480,000....

It looks fast because it is fast. In fact, the Ferrari 599 GTO (~$480,000) is the company's fastest road car ever. Powered by a 6.0-liter V12, this sexy beast gives you 670 hp, a top speed over 208 mph, and a 0-60 time of 3.35 seconds. The 599 GTO shed every ounce of weight it could, coming in at only 3,295 lbs, making handling and acceleration crazier than a video game. It rolls on 20-inch rims and comes equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and Formula 1-derived wheel doughnuts for braking efficiency and optimized brake cooling. It's also got a rather futuristic driver-car interface with Virtual Race Engineer (VRE), which sends the driver "instantaneous information" on performance. Only 599 will be available.

I could certainly get around in this thing... no problem:

We always appreciate it when companies are upfront about their outrageous pricing, so when we saw that the Garia Soleil de Minuit Golf Cart ($52,000) was being hailed as "the world's most expensive golf car ever made by a manufacturer," we knew we had to check it out. Sure enough, it packs in plenty of crazy features for those of you who spend more time on the course than you do at your mansion, including a carbon roof, custom paint, two-colored, hand-stitched seats, alcantara roof lining, a LED speedometer, custom wheels, and an available built-in refrigerator. It is quite expensive, but that's the price you pay to be able to boast that your Porsche and your golf cart were made in the same factory.

Take a break
Things will be a little quiet around here the next week or so -- AES and I are headed south to spend some time soaking up the sun and relaxing.

Hope everyone has a great Easter and enjoys the first week of April (and the great weather that's being forecasted the next few days around here) Don't forget, Opening Day is right around the corner.
