Our choices for seven athletes of the decade--one in each sport we cover--sparked some intense debate. Love him or hate him, Tyler Hansbrough was the decade's most influential player. He's SN's pick, over former Blue Devils point guard Jason Williams.
Sporting News says:
It may well be true that there wasn't a single moment of Hansbrough's college career when he was the most talented player on the court. But he was always the most influential. From his first game to his championship finale, Hansbrough was feted far and wide for playing with unwavering effort. Though some rival fans tired of hearing the praise, even they would have to agree: Hansbrough provided four years of education for young players everywhere.

For all the Star Wars fans out there, this seems pretty neat:
Star Wars: In Concert is a unique evert that combines John Williams' unforgettable music, performed by a live symphony orchestra and chorus, with specially edited footage from all six Star Wars films. Through each musical piece, audiences will experience the key themes, characters and story elements of the epic Star Wars saga from a new perspective. Taking a remarkable excursion into the heart of a galaxy far, far away.
A true multi-media experience, Star Wars: In Concert features a giant, specially constructed LED screen - one of the largest screens ever taken on tour - onto which the newly edited film sequences will be projected.

The tour starts on on Oct 1st, with dates all over the country (including Charlotte) Unfortunately, there are no dates scheduled in the midwest - so some traveling would be involved. Still, sounds like a cool concept for any die-hard fan.
