Neil Pert

As a tribute to the US city that first played their music, Rush confirms that the Cleveland performance of their Time Machine show on April 15th at the Quicken Loans Arena will be filmed for full-length release. Cleveland is remarkable for being one of the very first US cities where the band performed, in addition to being the first city to provide American airplay. This will be a must-see event for Rush fans in Cleveland – and for everyone able to make the road trip as it is will also mark the first live full-length filming on US soil.

Congrats to AES on winning this year's Pick 'Em. It was a battle at the top all year and AES was able to hold off VAH at the end to clinch the championship. Kudos to everyone who picked this week for scoring 49 points or better. Feel free to talk trash or make sweeping promises for next year.

Sad that Pick 'Em is over ? Join us for Bowl Mania and continue the fun.

US Department of Defense engineers and Sony built the most powerful computer in the Department’s inventory by linking 1,760 PlayStation 3 gaming consoles:

The supercomputer, nicknamed the Condor Cluster, will allow very fast analysis of large high-resolution imagery — billions of pixels a minute, taking what used to take several hours down to mere seconds, Barnell said.

Its sophisticated algorithms also will allow scientists to better identify objects flying in space, where movement and distance create blurring, with higher-quality images than possible before.

Its capacity makes the PlayStation 3 cluster about the 33rd largest computer in the world, Barnell said. “It’s in that magnitude. ”

The supercomputer is currently housed at the US Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, New York.

Pretty awesome use of technology to help society in harnessing that power with a specific cause in mind.

Some friends and I were discussing this at work today. With Thanksgiving quickly approaching (tomorrow), be safe in the kitchen. Never throw water on a grease fire. Click here for video.

2011 Porsche Cayman R

We might be heading into the dead of winter, but that doesn't mean it's too early to start looking for a racy rear-wheel driver to cruise around in next summer. The 2011 Porsche Cayman R ($66,000 and up) certainly fits the bill, with a 3.4L, mid-mounted six-cylinder producing 330 hp, a standard manual six-speed to get you to 60 mph in just five seconds -- replaceable with a seven speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (couldn't make that up) and Sport Chrono package that does the job in 4.7 seconds -- a top speed of 175 mph, lightweight 19-inch wheels, a lowered body, black-framed headlights, black exterior mirrors and "PORSCHE" lettering on the side, anti-roll bars, alcantara and leather upholstery, unique strap door handles, and a center console that matches the exterior paint. In other words, it's everything your bad weather beater isn't.

Ror the second week in a row, we have a new leader -- VAH's reign at the top was a short one and now AES is back on top of the heap. With only 6 points separating the two, I doubt this is the end of that battle.

The rest of the pack is 20+ points behind and we're not seeing a lot of movement in the ranks. AES and Smith tied for the best picks this week, each with 40 points. Good luck to everyone in in week 12.
